Just when we thought that our plate was full in life, God dished us up some dessert!

We're packing!

Dan said to me this past Thursday, with about 10 days to go before we leave, "You know, we really need to sit down and start talking about what all we need to do before we have to leave." Thank you Dan for those wise, wise words. I have been doing that for a little over 2 months now. Women are planners right. Men are focused...and he is plenty busy with many of other things.

I think I almost finished all of our gift shopping for our facilitator, her kids, the family that we will stay with...as well as some gifts for orphanage staff. I don't know what to expect so I am bringing some extra just in case.

I've packaged everything in little bags separately and then packed I have a bunch of gift bags that fold flat with tissue paper.

My room has been taken over by suitcases and a crib...I like the crib. Little Stassi's bed. We put one in Ricky's room too. When you ask him whose bed it is he says "Dah" and then sticks his tongue out. I do hope this stops. He does it because of all of the pictures that he sees of Stass. I will be interesting.

Dan travels a lot this week so should make for a challenge getting everything finished, but it will all work out. Relying on God a lot, as always. I am thrilled that we will be staying at a Catholic Cathedral while we are in Stassi's region. We will stay at The Cathedral of God the Father of Mercy. Daily Mass would make everything run a little more smoothly, don't you think??

Blessings...please pray for us!

  1. It's beautiful weather here Gretchen! Sunny but still cool enough for a jacket in Kiev. I'm sure it will be warmer in Zap based on weather predictions I looked at while packing! You're going to love it here! We are!

  2. I'm trying to pack, too, but it's so overwhelming... and I've done this before! BTW, did I ever tell you that our William's birth name was Stanislav? :)

  3. I have to say...Stanislav has grown on me. A long way off from my first reaction to the name :-)

  4. Hi Gretchen, call us if you have time and/or would like to when you are in Kiev...0664836494

By the way, the SDA appointment itself was fine, just a misunderstanding which I will explain in a blog post soon.....

Hope to see you! We'll be in Kiev the whole time.
