Just when we thought that our plate was full in life, God dished us up some dessert!

See this happy boy?

This is Ricky a couple of days ago...headset on...dancing to California Justice (Five for Fighting). At one point he comes close to the camera and you can hear him say "California Justice"....okay, use your imagination.  We are starting to understand more and more of what he is saying. Between sign and better articulation it's been fun. Music is what seems to really be helping.

Well, he is happy here, isn't he?
I'm afraid in a few short days, he won't be quite so happy :-(

He will be having his tonsils and adenoids removed on Thursday. UGH!
I hate to think about it. Please pray for him.The one good thing we have going for us/him is that he can be hydrated and medicated through his g-tube. It is great to have that as a back-up. I remember agonizing over whether to get that thing....I love it and don't know how we will ever decide to get rid of it :-)

Ricky had labs done yesterday, one finger poke and THREE blood draws! He is NOT an easy poke. Thankfully the Wiggles resurrected him following each poke. The third poke had just enough blood to do his labs..."not one drop extra."  (thank you JPII) Phew! I don't think I could have let them poke him again.

Here he is at the doctors for his pre-op. Isn't he just cute? He is such a ham. He is well known and loved at his pediatricians office. He usually performs for whoever is waiting.

 THE WORLD IS HIS STAGE!

And we LOVE his productions.

  1. Oh how I love your sweet boy, well boys, but I will be covering this little one in prayers. He is gonna be fine. You are a nurse, and a momma that loves him so much, he is in the best hands in the world. And God has this covered. I know you are worried. My thoughts and prayers will be yours Thursday morning as they wheel him away, I know your heart will be heavy. I just know he'll be fine. Love you, Renee

  3. I will be praying for Ricky and you on Thursday. I'm sure he will do fine. We've been through the removal of adenoids with two of our older kids. It went very smoothly both times and made such a huge difference in their health afterwards. Ricky is just adorable. I loved his little dance routine in the video.

  5. oh, he's such a honey! And I think it's so neat how much he loves music!!! Seems like he's either playing his banjo or singing or listening and dancing....that's awesome :)

I'm sure all will go well on Thursday...but I know it's hard worrying and thinking about it.

  6. What a cutie! That video is adorable!
It's wonderful that you have the g-tube option because the hardest part with Nadia has been getting things down her sore throat. She's a happy camper except when I try to give her food, drink or medicine. Then she has a complete meltdown and I have to perform my circus act (singing and contortions) in order to get anything down her. I'll be praying. I think the biggest thing is just to realize that not much else will get down for at least a week because he will require more of your time than you might think. :)
